And so it begins…

Firstly I want to start of saying how very much I love and adore my twins! They are 2 now and are identical girls….though we didn’t actually find out they were identical until they were 20 months old!

My whole purpose of this blog is my method of venting! πŸ˜‚ …like I said I adore my girls but MY GOD they can really push my limits at times! I should also point out that I have an 8 year old girl as well….but that’s a whole different story who I’m sure will pop up in this many a time!!

My twins are capable of things that I never even dreamed possible. I feel most of my day consists of me saying No, Get down off that, Don’t do that to your sister, stop climbing the bookcase, stop trying to escape, leave the cat alone, stop eating off the floor like a dog, stop rubbing your biscuits into the carpet….and so on!

The worst so far is 1 of them is a biter!!! πŸ™ˆπŸ™ˆπŸ™ˆπŸ™ˆπŸ™ˆ …I’ve tried every trick in the book to try and stop her. Her poor sister has been covered in bruises before now. They started nursery a couple of months ago and go a few mornings a week. I cringe every time I go there to be told she has bitten again. Believe me I have tried everything, and yes that includes trying to bite her back once (as awful as that sounds; but was on advice of plenty of others who said it worked for them) but nope nothing has worked. When we tell her off and explain its naughty and it hurts. All she does is close her eyes and goes off into her own little world! If I can’t see you then you can’t see me mentality!

So as much as they drive me insane at times ….daily in fact…. I figured the best way of me venting and calming myself down and also digesting there recent conquests was to write a blog. And who knows maybe I will find someone else in the same situation…….I know there is plenty of you out there πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚.Β And in the meantime all I can say is thank god for my amazing group of friends, who keep us all laughing at the latest drama’s with their gorgeous kiddies!

I started writing this last night. And of course this morning my beautiful girls have redeemed themselves once again by eating their breakfast so nicely on their own…at 2 that may not seem much to a lot of parents but 1 thing I discovered early on with twins is that development stages are a lot slower. A hard thing for me is that my girls aren’t really talking yet! …. And right this minute they a colouring lovely together! That’s something else that is very far and few between….and if I’m completely honest the time it took to write that sentence; they are now chasing each other with crayons trying to snatch them off each other! So I’m going to write off now to break up fight 1 of the day!!!

Until next time … Xoxoxoxo

  1. Your girls are so cute! My boys are 14 months and they test my patience everyday… They are so mischievious together. Now they are focusing on music show on Netflix for a few minutes so Im reading your posts to take a breath lol and Im so glad im not alone! actually one of my boys has bitten his brother at least three times last week…. Poor M has bite marks on his arm and hand 😦 I haven’t tried anything yet… sometimes they fight over a toy and they fight quite hard, which makes me sad.
Please keep posted on how your biter baby does!
and I look forward to your venting haha. πŸ™‚

    1. I’m so glad I’m not the only 1! I have been told it’s because they can’t talk and express themselves. So hopefully the quicker they talk the sooner it stops! Everything seems slower in developmental stages compared to my older daughter, and health visitor plus others explained that I should expect it because I’m not able to give them the 1 on 1 time that a single child would get.! I have definitely found that writing on this helps me when they really stress me out and it helps me to see the comical side of things! I child proofed everything in my house….well so I thought but these girls think of things that wouldn’t occur to me in the slightest. My tv unit now has no drawers because they used them as steps; the bookcase is empty because they learnt to climb it; all the cupboards are tied up with shoelaces πŸ™ˆ To stop them emptying them; their bedroom literally just has their beds in because they used every last object to climb on to get over their baby gate πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ and we have to lock all the doors and take away the keys just to stop them escaping from the house….that’s just to name a few! Haha….I’m exhausted on a whole other level as I’m sure you completely understand! But they are such funny little girls I can’t help but laugh! 😊

      1. Oh wow!! My boys can’t climb well yet…. ohhhh Im sure we will have to make changes to the baby gates!
I know… our house has so many gates and child proof locks and still everyday they find something new to get into. hahaha
Im sure we will miss this stage when they are older one day! πŸ˜‰
